The second-hand shopping app has revised its measurement guidelines for women's and children's clothes failing to inform all shoppers about the modification. Social Media Response Many shoppers and sellers have taken to social media stating that platform listings now display a different size category versus the original listing as a result of the reclassification. The company said the new system was more in line with other platforms. It has advised users to examine their items and update the measurements by hand if necessary, which has left users frustrated. Size Classification Modifications Earlier, the sizes had both one number and one letter, like S/8 or M/10. The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range like S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement was previously a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. User Accounts One content creator, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Another user, based in Glasgow, explained products she uploaded featuring size 14 markings were appearing on the platform as measurements 20-22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they're going to be very disappointed," she stated. Manual Updates A different user, from Derby, explained she became annoyed by the change as she had to manually change the measurements for "each individual item". "For me this is particularly frustrating, because of my ongoing medical condition and Vinted sales have been crucial after experiencing income reduction," she stated. Platform Context The service features exceeding 100 million members, including 18 million in the UK. It has emerged as a preferred choice to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time that an unexpected update to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, the service retracted a modification concerning shipment methods following member complaints.
